Vehicles used for ASB! |
||
Last night, Officers from Ashford CSU spent the evening in the Town Centre, accompanied by an Enforcement Officer from the Council and a Kent Police drugs dog, to target drug use in licensed venues, which saw some great results.
But on a slight side venture, Officers also stopped a vehicle on Bank Street after it was seen to wheel spin and drive at speed towards the barrier. The driver was issued a S.59 warning for both him and his vehicle, meaning if he or his vehicle are involved in only one more incident of Anti-Social Behaviour in the next 6 months, then the associated vehicle can be seized and removed from the roadside.
And like London buses… whilst dealing with the first vehicle, a second one has decided to drive the wrong way up Vicarage Lane and found themselves face to face with more of our Officers. The driver who already has points on his license, has been reported for driving without due care and attention, as well as his vehicle being in a dangerous condition, which I would expect could see him lose his license entirely!
Both drivers were also reported to the Council for breaching the Public Space Protection Order because of their anti-social use of their vehicles in the Town Centre. | ||
